What to do in case of an unwanted pregnancy?
Have you become pregnant against your will and have you decided that you want to terminate the pregnancy? At Abortion Clinic Stimezo, we believe that every woman should be able to make this choice. You are welcome at our clinic up to 13 weeks of pregnancy. In these cases we can terminate the pregnancy for you. If you are more than 13 weeks pregnant, we will be happy to refer you to a second trimester clinic. All medical procedures carried out in our clinic are subject to medical confidentiality.
Did you get pregnant against your will?
Have you discovered you are pregnant with the help of a pregnancy test? There can be many reasons why a pregnancy is unwanted. We have no prejudices and are happy to discuss your needs with you. Perhaps you have no relationship with the father of your child, or after consulting your partner you have decided that terminating the pregnancy is the best option. In our clinic, we help all women, of all ages. We do not have a waiting list in our clinic.
Support in terminating a pregnancy
We understand that terminating a pregnancy is a major decision. If you would like to discuss this with us, this is of course possible. We offer you a safe environment where you can make your decision without coercion. If you decide to terminate your pregnancy, we will take care of the abortion, but also of the aftercare involved. You can also come to us for information on contraception.
Counselling in our abortion clinic
Our counselling includes psychosocial support, provision of the abortion pill or outpatient suction curettage and aftercare.
We also provide advice on contraception and, if necessary, refer women to another clinic.
Our health professionals consider quality and personal attention for the woman to be very important. From the time of your appointment until the time you can go home, the treatment takes time:
- treatment with the abortion pill takes about 45 minutes at our clinic;
- treatment with local anaesthetic takes 2 – 2.5 hours;
- treatment under general anaesthesia takes about 3.5 to 4 hours at our clinic;
- and after treatment with only extra pain relief, you will be able to go home again after about three hours.
During the time you spend in the clinic, you will be registered, an ultrasound will be made and you will have a talk with a doctor and nurse. During this talk, we will discuss in detail your intention to terminate the pregnancy. Our doctors will help you make a well-considered choice and explain the various treatment methods. We will also advise you on which contraception is best for you.
