If you are more than six weeks and two days pregnant, a five-day reflection period applies to an abortion. This is required by law to ensure that you make a well-considered decision.

Consultation with your GP or a doctor at the abortion clinic

The five-day reflection period is between the first consultation with a doctor, during which you discuss your intention to terminate the pregnancy, and the day of treatment.

You can make an appointment with your family doctor for the first consultation and the necessary referral letter. After this talk, you can contact the clinic directly to set a date for the treatment. The treatment can then take place five days later.

If you don’t want to or can’t see your GP, you can also make an appointment with a doctor in our clinic for an initial consultation. In this case, too, the five-day reflection period applies after the consultation.
