Post abortion check-up
Do you have a question after the treatment?
We can be reached by telephone from Mondays – Thursdays 8:15 am – 16:15 pm and on Fridays from 8:15 am – 12:15 pm.
Outside our opening hours, please contact the GP on duty.
Advice to prevent complications
After treatment we will give you advice on your state of health after a suction curettage and/or after the abortion pill. This advice is intended to keep the risk of complications as low as possible. At the end of your stay in the clinic, we will give you the instructions on paper. To prevent infections, we will give you antibiotics to take home with you. We will also give you a questionnaire and a letter for your GP with information about the treatment.
Follow-up check
At least four weeks after you have been treated in our clinic or have had the miscarriage at home, you should take the pregnancy test we gave you. It is possible that you will still have a weakly positive pregnancy test. This is because the pregnancy hormone is still slightly present in your body. Is this the case for you? Then we advise you to take another pregnancy test one week later. With a (permanent) positive pregnancy test or persistent pregnancy symptoms, contact our clinic.
Processing
An abortion is an event that can evoke all kinds of emotions. It may help if you can share these with someone you trust. If you would like additional support, you can contact your family doctor, Fiom (www.fiom.nl), Fiom (www.fiom.nl), or make an appointment for a counselling session at our clinic.
