For this reason, there is a statutory\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/5-days-reflection-period\/\">five-day reflection\u00a0period<\/a>\u00a0for when you may have an abortion.<br><br>Depending on the stage of pregnancy, abortions are divided into:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/early-abortion\/\">early abortion<\/a>\u00a0(up to and including a pregnancy of six weeks and two\u00a0days)<\/li>\n<li>or an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/treatment-methods\/\">abortion treatment<\/a>\u00a0(if the pregnancy is longer than 6 weeks and two\u00a0days).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Early abortion<\/h3>\n<p>For an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/early-abortion\/\">early abortion<\/a>\u00a0(terminating a pregnancy up to and including six\u00a0weeks and two days) you have nothing to do with the legal reflection period and you can contact the clinic directly to make an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/contact\/\">appointment<\/a>.<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text -->        <\/div>\n                    <div  data-lazy=\"1\" class=\"module_column sub_column col4-2 tb_6k3x166 last\">\n                    <!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_t2ba167   \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <h3>Abortion treatment<\/h3>\n<p>In the case of an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/treatment-methods\/\">abortion treatment<\/a>\u00a0(termination of pregnancy beyond six weeks and two days), Dutch law requires that you take at least five days to reflect on your intention to terminate your pregnancy. \u00a0The five-day reflection period commences as soon as you have spoken to your GP (referral interview) or discussed your intention to terminate the pregnancy with one of our doctors. The abortion treatment can take place from the sixth day onwards.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Decision making interview and examination<\/h3>\n<p>An ultrasound examination will always check how long you have been pregnant. You can have the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/en\/decision-making-interview-and-examination\/\">decision making interview<\/a>\u00a0with your general practitioner or with a doctor of our clinic. If you have consulted your GP, you must bring a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stimezo-zwolle.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Stimezo-Verwijsbrief.pdf\">completed referral letter<\/a>\u00a0from this
